Serving Platter Care Guide

To help your platter stay beautiful and functional for years to come, here are a few easy care tips:

Everyday Cleaning

After each use, wash your platter with warm, soapy water.

No soaking, please! A quick scrub is all it needs.

Rinse it off and dry it with a clean towel.

Then let it air-dry completely before storing.

Care Tips

Use it often! A few scratches and marks add character – your platter is meant to be used and loved.

Keep it out of direct sunlight to protect the wood’s natural colour and finish.

Store it flat whenever you can to prevent warping.

Go easy on acidic foods (like citrus or vinegar) – they can wear down the finish.

Watch out for stains if your board is a lighter wood. Foods like beetroot and turmeric can leave their mark.

Avoid soaking your platter or leaving it wet for long periods – wood and water don’t mix well.

Never put it in the dishwasher, microwave, or oven. That’s a one-way ticket to warp city.

Skip the cooking oils (like olive or vegetable oil) for conditioning – they can go rancid and damage your platter.

Maintenance

Wood is a natural material, and it needs a little TLC. Regularly conditioning your serving platter keeps it smooth, shiny, and protected from cracks or splinters.

We recommend using our Cast & Wood Board Conditioner for best results.

Also, try to avoid storing your board above a dishwasher – the heat and steam can cause it to warp or crack over time.
